Actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with indecent assault and other offences.
McLachlan is perhaps best known for appearing in Neighbours and Home and Away as well as the BBC One spy drama Bugs.
Craig played the brother of Kylie Minogue's character, Charlene, on Neighbours between 1987 and 1989.
In January a year ago McLachlan - who also appeared in the stage play of The Rocky Horror Show - was accused of indecent assault and sexual harassment.
"Craig is innocent of these charges which will be vigorously defended", the statement said. He has commenced legal action against the SMH, The Age, the ABC and Christie Whelan Browne, who alleged McLachlan inappropriately touched her during an onstage Rocky Horror sex scene.
Victoria Police laid the charges on Friday, with the 53-year-old to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on February 8.
He won accolades for his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show before allegations of sexual assault surfaced previous year.
In December, he had a minor win in his defamation case, after a judge rejected a bid to include three new complaints about his time on TV series The Doctor Blake Mysteries.
