Apple releases iOS 12.0.1 to fix charging and WiFi bugs

The new version - iOS 12.0.1 - is available for download right now, and if you don't receive a push notification prompting you to download it, you can force your device to by navigating to Settings General Software Update. With iOS 12.0 final released recently, iOS 12.1 beta out in test with developers, and iOS 12.0.1 now in the hands of the public, all in the space of just over couple of weeks, we're going to look at the changes and security content of that interim firmware release. Yes, that means today's update officially squashes the "Chargegate" bug. After the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max went on sale from September 21, some users reported that they were facing issues with regard to charging on the devices. Their iPhone XS would attempt to rejoin a previously-connected WiFi network at 2.4 GHz, even if it had been using 5 GHz beforehand.

Apple iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max charging issue is fixed with the new iOS 12.0.1 update. You can also apply the update through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to a computer.

"For the iPad, the iOS 12.0.1 update fixes the position of the ".?123" key on the on-screen keyboard. The latest iOS 12 also fixes some other issues for users.

Apple iPad users will notice that the "123" number key on the tablet's virtual QWERTY keyboard is back at its pre-iOS 12 location.

The new update also includes fixes for more minor bugs, including an issue that caused subtitles not to appear on certain video apps and another that may have made Bluetooth unavailable in certain circumstances.
