Ariana Grande Was ‘An Unbelievably Stabilizing Force’ for Mac Miller, Says Friend

Ariana Grande was "unbelievably involved and helpful" in getting her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller sober, according to one of the late rapper's friends.

However, one of his friends, Shane Powers, is speaking out about they have it all wrong on his podcast The Shane Show.

Mac and Ariana were very in love, Shane remarked, and "Ariana was incredible when he was first sobering up". "She was deeply helpful and effective in keeping Mac sober and helping him get sober and she was all about him being healthy, period, in this area of this life".

The "Attention" star then became quite tearful, as he said "I always thought I'd be the one to help him get clean and to lead him onto the path of a good, clean, sober life".

Following Miller's death, Puth, known for collaborating with Wiz Khalifa on the song See You Again, tweeted to say he had texted the rapper's phone. "Because whether he [was] an addict or not, the way that Mac partied was not healthy".

"She was all about him being healthy", he added.

Ariana dated Mac, birth name Malcolm James McCormick, for about two years, splitting in May.

Charlie Puth said that he was hopeful that he would help Mac Miller turn his life around after years battling with substance abuse.

Miller died at his Studio City, Calif., home on Friday (Sept. 7).

On Monday a representative for the LA County Coroner said that investigators have released the body to the family but a cause of death will not be announced until the results of toxicology tests that can take weeks or months.
