Facebook has begun internally testing their dating service with employees.
'The goal for this dogfooding is to test the end-to-end product experience for bugs and confusing user interface, ' the terms and conditions state. Just when the Facebook Dating was announced stocks of other dating sites like Tinder plunged down by 17 percent.
Facebook has since confirmed that they are testing out the feature but declined to go into further details. "This is not meant for dating your coworkers", the screenshot read.
For those who are curious, it seems that you'll have to wait until Facebook launches the feature, but if online dating is your thing, there are plenty of alternatives out there that could be worth taking a look at for now. Other screenshots show the sign-up process for Facebook Dating, including designating who can see it, your gender, how you identify, who you want to meet, and your current city. "This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships and not just for hookups", Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had said during his keynote.
The development was spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, a computer scientist who last week identified that the company was developing a talent show feature for its app. There will be Groups and Events available too, and you will also be able to browse potential matches based on the info Facebook already know about you.
