Importantly, as of the time of this writing, eight of the 13 trapped people have already been saved by the heroic actions of rescue divers and support teams.
Divers have revealed that water pumps that were being used to drain the area failed just hours after the last of the team of 12 boys and their coach was freed. More worrying, however, oxygen levels in the chamber where the boys sought refuge were falling.
The boys had good appetites but were mainly being given bland, easily digestible foods. He warns the window of opportunity to free the youngsters is "limited".
Rescue chief Narongsak Osottanakorn told reporters today that the entire operation would not have been possible without the unique skills that Harris brought to the mission, though he did not elaborate.
"They (all the boys) will have to stay in the hospital for one week to wait for their results and to see if anything changes", he said.
