Yoga Day 2018 celebrated all over the world

Initiated with a proposition by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, June 21 was proclaimed International Yoga Day by the United Nations on December 11, 2014.

"Yoga is not just a set of exercises that keeps the body fit".

He said that yoga has become the biggest mass movement across the globe in the quest for good health and well-being, which is crucial to the creation of a peaceful world.

In India, the yoga day was celebrated with much fervour and excitement.

"Designed to help individuals build self-realisation, ease any suffering they may be experiencing and allow for a state of liberation, (yoga) is practised by the young and old without discriminating against gender, class or religion", UNESCO added in a tweet. "However, after practicing some postures at International Yoga Day at the Indian school, I feel relaxed and am able to speak more freely". "It can show the way in defeating tensions and mindless anxiety", Modi said on Twitter.
