The internet was gripped by a daring raccoon that climbed a 23-storey skyscraper in Minnesota, USA. Workers in the office building, whose windows are sealed shut, anxious as the critter scuttled past their offices and rested on window ledges.
The furry little critter scaled the ubs building early Tuesday, after being scared by building workers trying to help it off an overhang.
No word yet on how crews plan to get it down.
For now, the 23rd-floor ledge ― almost the top of the building ― has become the raccoon's resting spot.
St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter spun its adventure as a positive for the city's tourism industry - proof that even a raccoon knew Minnesota's capital "is a great place to reach for higher heights".
"Pray for #mprraccoon", one Twitter user said.
The raccoon was first spotted on a ledge Tuesday morning.
The masked animal did so by scaling a St. Paul, Minnesota, skyscraper, a la Spider-Man, and in the process riveting - and terrifying - legions of humans who followed online.
A raccoon is carried off the roof of the UBS Plaza tower in St. Paul, Minn. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
Images and videos of the raccoon's climb went viral on social media. The animal was still stranded as of 6pm local time, the news site reported, but animal control officials had placed a trap with bait on the roof of the building in an attempt to capture it. Firefighters left cat food on the top of the 24-story building in the hope of being able to catch the animal safely, and on Wednesday morning, the raccoon finally made it.
