The heat and humidity continue as afternoon high temperatures reach the low 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s. Temps will rise from the mid to upper 60s this morning to the upper 80s this afternoon. Fortunately for those with outdoor activities, we should be mainly dry for a good portion of today. We will not be completely rain free, but more of us than not should be able to get out and get some outdoor chores taken care of. After flooding becomes a concern again this evening into tomorrow, all eyes turn toward the Tuesday forecast - will it be a nice day for a parade?
We're pretty much picking up right where we left off this weekend as dry weather prevails to kick off this work week.
Saturday rain showers and storms linger through the weekend
Rain and storms are moving in just to the north and south of Hampton Roads. Anyone along or south of I-94 and close to the state line can see light to heavy showers with some storms for the morning hours on Sunday. It will stay on the warm side though as overnight lows fall back into the 70s.
Isolated afternoon storms will likely give way to a more solid line of strong storms by late this evening. For related traffic news, check out Gridlock. The rain chance decreases to 30 percent tonight. This will bring more chances of showers and storms for the start of the workweek. We will drop to the 70s overnight with a mostly cloudy sky.
