In addition to the beta update, the May Android Security update is also being rolled out.
The company issues a notice that as it is a beta update, there could be issues with the same.
OnePlus is rolling out new updates to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, but these are specific to those in the Open Beta program. This security patch also improves OnePlus Switch feature which helps users to switch from their existing smartphone to an OnePlus device. The former is receiving OxygenOS Open Beta 10, while the latter gets bumped to OxygenOS Open Beta 8. Moreover, it further adds several improvements to apps like Launcher, Switch and Messages.
The OnePlus Switch app is also getting some updates. There are general bug fixes along with stability improvements as well with the update. While there is no change in the changelog, the latest update brings a new Toolbox Card in the shelf home screen and a Hidden Space for the app drawer. Switch makes it easy to transfer your data from your current device to your new OnePlus device.
OnePlus phones like OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T were launched with Android Nougat OS, however, the company has upgraded all the four phones to Android Oreo. Although it is not clear what this hidden space in the app drawer actually means, it does show that the new update will bring support for editing dynamic icons like the Clock, Weather and calendar widgets.
