'Morally unfit to be president'

Comey, speaking to ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, touched on numerous scandals that have plagued the Trump administration over the past 16 months, including the Russian Federation dossier and the litany of sexual misconduct allegations leveled at the president.

Former FBI Director James Comey said President Donald Trump is "morally unfit to be president" and "lies constantly about matters big and small" in a scathing new interview. "This president does not reflect the values of this country". "This president is not able to do that", Comey said. "He is morally unfit to be president".

"This guy swung an election", Conway said on ABC's Good Morning America, seeming to suggest that Comey had contributed to Trump's victory - a theory unlikely to find favor with the president.

Trump's accusation that Comey "lied in Congress to Senator G" appears to be referring to Sens. We also learned of the Obama administration's efforts to shut down the investigation into Hillary Clinton's "foundation". Was anyone aiding the Russians, conspiring with the Russians? "It's possible, but I don't know". In addition, Comey says he and the president sparred over Trump's complimentary words regarding Vladimir Putin and his suggestion in an interview that the US was also guilty of illegal killings. "It's possible, but I don't know". There is no indication that any such tape exists, and Trump has rebutted the allegation.

Trump tweeted Monday that Comey drafted an exoneration of Hillary Clinton long before he talked to her as part of an investigation into her email practices. Leaked excerpts have detailed Comey's mistrust of Trump, whom he describes as "ego driven" and "untethered to the truth".

Conservatives, on the other hand, lashed out over his interaction with Trump, with the president tweeting out on April 16. "I think it's possible".

Excerpts of Comey's memoir, A Higher Loyalty, in which he describes his brief time as Federal Bureau of Investigation director under the Trump administration, were issued last week.

While criticism from President Donald Trump isn't new to Comey, the president used new descriptors for him after the first clip of Comey's exclusive interview with ABC News' chief anchor George Stephanopoulos was released Friday morning. Trump said in a tweet. The book will officially be released next week.

Trump said Comey's book fails to answer questions about why the Justice Department didn't prosecute Hillary Clinton for using a private email server while serving as secretary of state.

In July of 2016, Comey announced that he wasn't recommending charges against Clinton, but stated that Clinton and her aides were "extremely careless" in their handling of classified information. Clinton herself has pointed to Comey's actions in explaining her presidential election loss.

Comey said he believed from the outset in the credibility of the source who wrote the dossier, former a British intelligence officer Christopher Steele.

Last summer, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and Sen.

Trump fired Comey in May 2017.

He said Trump "will stain everyone around him". But Trump later said he was thinking about "this Russian Federation thing" around the time he made a decision to fire Comey. She also said that Comey never raised any concerns with her regarding the email investigation. Trump has repeatedly called the investigation a witch hunt and denied any collusion.
