Sean Miller interested in Pitt job, has discussed it with AD

Miller released a statement on Wednesday morning stating that he is not a candidate for the Pitt head coaching vacancy.

However, UA President Robert Robbins and the Arizona Board of Regents announced before the Pac-12 tournament (which was eventually won by Arizona) that Miller will remain as the coach. "I wish them well in their search for a new coach".

Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller has refuted reports out of Pittsburgh that he is interested in the vacancy at Pitt.

According to Pittsburgh News Now, intermediaries reached out to Pitt on Miller's behalf.

The Panthers fired Stallings after two seasons at the helm.

Miller played at Pitt from 1987 to 1992. They went 16-17 in Stallings' first season, but finished 8-24 this season - including a winless ACC campaign. He has since deactivated that account.

However, Miller was accused of orchestrating a pay-for-play scheme for freshman standout Deandre Ayton in an ESPN report. His former assistant, Emanuel "Book" Richardson, was arrested on various charges of bribery in the FBI's sweeping investigation of college basketball programs and recruiting.

Arizona now has no players committed to the 2018 recruiting class and just six players now expected to be on the team after Ayton, Rawle Alkins and Allonzo Trier leave for the National Basketball Association early.
