Authorities in Alabama say a charter tour bus carrying students on a school trip from Houston, Texas, has plunged into a ravine, with multiple injuries reported. WKRG-TV is reporting that 12 to 20 people have been injured, and that officials say the bus was returning to Houston from a school trip.

Multiple medical helicopters responded to the crash that occurred around 6 a.m. east of Mobile, the television station reported.
Channelview Independent School District, which is located east of Houston, has confirmed band students from their Channelview High School were on the bus to KHOU in Houston.
The bus was traveling eastbound from Texas when it crashed on I-10, Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office told ABC News.
