Thus, director Ava DuVernay's announcement earlier today that the singer has "created" a very Sade-sounding new song called "Flower of the Universe" for the forthcoming "Wrinkle in Time" film has met with a rapturous response.
Sade's not the only one contributing new tunes to the album. "She was kind + giving". It's titled "Flower of the Universe", and although we won't get to hear it just yet, DuVernay described the experience of working with Sade as "a dream come true". The soundtrack also features songs by Demi Lovato, Sia and Kehlani. Known for taking extended breaks, Sade's decision contribute to the Wrinkle In Time soundtrack is not only a coup for DuVernay, but it's also a treat for the singer's fans who have been clamoring for new music for almost a decade.
The soundtrack will also feature a score by Game of Thrones and Westworld composer Ramin Djawadi. Starring Storm Reid, Gugu Mbatha Raw, and Oprah Winfrey, the film follows 13-year-old Meg (Reid) as she tries to find and her missing father and ends up saving the world. So it's safe to say that audiences will be jamming in theaters for this adaption of Madeleine L'Engle classic children's book. Both the soundtrack and the movie are out on March 9.
