Mark Wahlberg held up Christopher Plummer's casting on 'Money'

Detailing how the negotiations for the reshoot went down, the sources revealed that Williams was the first to be approached by a producer, not Scott. She also wanted to ensure the well-being of her colleagues.

Spacey issued a statement saying he did not remember the alleged incident, but apologized for what he said would have been "inappropriate drunken behavior".

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story indicated Wahlberg was paid "100 times more than" Williams.

When a pay gap controversy happens, like the one All the Money in the World is mired in now, everyone throws their hands up.

Director Ridley Scott had to do re-shoots for the movie the week of Thanksgiving after Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey.

Scott managed to assemble his cast and crew on short notice during the Christmas period, successfully reshooting and re-editing the film in time to meet its original release date. WME's other co-CEO, Patrick Whitesell, represents Williams. Her male counterpart, Mark Wahlberg, received the same per diem - plus $1.5 million. "She has been in the industry for 20 yrs".

A lawyer and a rep for Wahlberg did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

But there are questions about the extent to which Wahlberg was on board with this all-hands-on-deck spirit of collaboration. The internet blew up over the fact Wahlberg made a ton of money for reshoots and Williams didn't, especially considering they both have agents from the same agency. Which was also an event used to highlight the Time's Up Initiative.

"They all came in free".

"We're told the financing guys had no choice and agreed to pay", TMZ reported. Williams' contract had such a requirement.

But the movie, about the 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III and his grandfather's refusal to pay a $17 million ransom, now finds itself embroiled in a new scandal.

Michelle Williams is an independent film darling, but has not headlined blockbusters like Wahlberg, who has successfully taken over the Transformers franchise and was 2017's highest-paid actor, Forbes reports. "I refused to get paid", Scott said, but "Christopher had to get paid, but Michelle, no". She tweeted after the Golden Globes, where Williams had been nominated for an award.

The Screen Actors Guild, the labor union that represents screen actors, is looking into the matter to see if any of the guild's contract rules were broken, Deadline reported. Here's a look into the three most common arguments.
