Xiaomi is world's most popular smartphone maker which carries a bucket of different types of Android based smartphones.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was launched in October at Rs 35,999. The phone was released in May previous year and packs a good punch. The last date to enroll in the beta program is by December 24 and Xiaomi says that the eligible users will be selected by December 27. The company launched only the 6GB RAM variant of the phone in India.
Since it's a closed beta testing, Xiaomi will select only a few Mi Mix 2 owners to test out the upcoming Android Oreo ROM. That said, the Mi 6 was the first device to join the Android 8.0 Oreo closed beta testing, which is now followed by Mi Mix 2. Moreover, some of the smartphones expected to receive Oreo update are Mi Max 2, Mi Mix, Mi Note 3 and Mi 6. We would get to see the update to roll out globally for this device in the early 2018. Xiaomi has not announced any details about the rollout of the final Oreo-based update.
It goes without saying that this is a beta kick off, so there's bound to be bugs in the updates. Yes, ZTE has confirmed that the update is "just around the corner". The company has given out details about the enrollment process for interested beta testers on the official MIUI forums. However there's no telling how long their users will need to wait for the software update to roll out. So, if you're not used to such updates, you should stay away from it.
