THIS is the dramatic moment cops nabbed a U.S. state senator as he tried to bed an underage boy in a seedy hotel room.
When Shortey answers the door for the cops, he steps into the light slowly enough for the world to gaze upon his very tasteful Ephesians 5:22 shirt.

Shortey wasn't arrested that evening, but the call spawned a wide-ranging investigation that lead to Shortey being charged with child prostitution in Cleveland County, eventually leading to his resignation from the Oklahoma State Senate. Shortey pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking last week and a sentencing hearing is pending.
Shortey became well known in the Oklahoma legislature as an anti-LGBT politician, voting on a bill that would allow businesses to refuse to serve gay customers. Until then, he will be held in jail.
Shortey is now facing between 10 years and life in federal prison. By making a deal, Shortey, 35, hopes to avoid being locked up for almost the rest of his life.
However, on 20 November he pleaded guilty to one count of child sex trafficking, with prosecutors agreeing to drop three child pornography charges against him as part of the plea.
