Although Niantic became known for its massively popular "Pokemon Go", it actually began with "Ingress", which was launched way back in 2012 when the company was still a subsidiary of Google.
Niantic just announced a huge update for Pokemon GO, which adds a ton of new monsters from the Hoenn region and some dynamic weather effects. Finally, weather will also aid your caught Pokémon; Charizard's attacks will be more powerful on a sunny day.
Finding these fifty additional Pokemon may be found easily by taking advantage of the brand new dynamic weather gameplay. This will also change the way players discover, catch, and interact with Pokemon as the system is based upon local weather patterns.
Here is the official statement from Niantic... The real-world weather around Trainers will impact the gameplay of Pokemon GO in a variety of ways that include changing Pokemon habitats and where they can be found, increasing Combat Power, and earning more Stardust after catching a Pokemon.
According to a new press release from the developer, Pokemon GO with release the gen 3 starters later this week, along with a handful of other Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire.
The five different types of weather are clear (effects grass, ground, and fire spawns), foggy (effects dark and ghost spawns), rainy (effects water, electric, and bug spawns), snowy (effects ice and steel spawns), and windy (effects dragon, flying, and psychic spawns). The weather effects will be added to the game "later this month".
