There are good negotiations occurring between Democrats and Republicans to come up with a good DACA program as well as some good border security.
Congressman Bruce Poliquin (ME-02) is calling on Congress to find a permanent legislative solution for DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, before the end of December. Therefore, the Armenian Council of America urges Congress to take action and immediately pass S. 1615, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, also known as the Dream Act.
Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, D-IL, quickly rejected Cornyn's plan a few hours after Cornyn described it on the Senate floor, calling it a "laundry list of unrelated immigration bills" created to "delay and stop any serious bipartisan effort" to find a DACA solution by the end of the year.
Activists and Democratic leaders immediately decried the legislation.
"Put bluntly", Sharry continued, "the Grassley-Cornyn bill says, 'give us everything we want in exchange for nearly nothing you want, deal?'"
"Dreamers" are immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as children.
