Apple TV will finally get Amazon Prime Video

On Wednesday, the Amazon Prime Video app went live on the Apple TV App Store to the delight of fans and subscribers of Amazon's internet video on demand service.

It has now though. After many months and questions on whether Apple would keep its promise, Prime Video has finally arrived on Apple TV and can be downloaded via the App Store in tvOS. The listing has since been removed from the iOS App Store, but the blog managed to take a screenshot of the promotional text that says, "Watch some of the hottest entertainment around with Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV".

Other big Amazon TV show exclusives include Mr Robot, Transgender and the excellent Vikings will also returns for a brand new season very soon.

The 4K Apple TV costs £179 for a 32GB model, £199 for a version with 64GB of storage.

The app and partnership was originally announced in June during Apple's annual developer conference. Given the benefit to both Prime Video and Apple TV users, it's good to see they can agree on at least one thing. While the latter two have been available for Apple TV users, Prime Video had been held back for a long time due to Apple's dispute with Amazon after the e-commerce platform refused to sell Apple TV units on its platform.

Amazon stopped selling Apple TV in the fall of 2015 after Bezos said he didn't want his customers to buy a device that wasn't compatible with Amazon's video app.

You can find the Amazon Prime Video app on iTunes HERE.
