The changelog for the OxygenOS 5.0 OTA is deceptively simple. Lately, it was announced by the company that the newly launched OnePlus 5T will receive the stable Android Oreo update in the next month while the OnePlus 5 will get it later this month. Of course, that's because the "Update to Android O (8.0)" already encompasses hundreds of changes, a lot of them under the hood. Just make sure that you are running on OxygenOS 4.5.1 to receive the Oreo update.
OnePlus 3 & 3T receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update
The latest base OS features are on the update such as Picture in Picture viewing for video apps, autofill, smart text selection. Unfortunately, it seems that only the September security patches have been applied, despite the last beta including October's set.
OnePlus has added a new folder design within its launcher, there's now an option to upload photos you've taken directly to Shot on OnePlus, and the recently announced Parallel Apps feature that allows you to have two separate instances of the same application is here as well.
The company has pointed out that it's an incremental update so the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T Android 8.0 Oreo update is only going to be released for a small percentage of users initially before the broader rollout in the coming days.
