Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp may be working on an app for iPad users as references of WhatsApp for iPad are spotted on the latest version of WhatsApp Desktop, which is now in beta for Windows 10 users.
According to a tweet from popular WhatsApp change tracking website WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is gearing up for a dedicated application for iPad - however, it may just be an application wrapper for WhatsApp Web, similar to how WhatsApp for Desktop has been designed. However, the app is not available for iPads or iPods and it only limited to phones.
This information came from WABetaInfo, which noticed some references regarding a "WhatsApp for iPad app" in an update.
The reports and rumors suggest that WhatsApp is launching a mysterious new app targeting a specific group of users.
IPad users will no doubt be hoping for the former, as WhatsApp Web can now be used on the iPad, sort of, and doesn't offer a great experience.
WhatsApp, naturally, hasn't commented on the rumours and there's no word yet as to when the app likely will be released.
The messaging app, a fortnight ago, rolled out its highly-anticipated "Delete for everyone" feature in India, allowing users to delete sent messages on individual or group chat within seven minutes of sending the message.
Nevertheless, WhatsApp users managed to find a loophole that will allow them to delete messages that are already a few days old.
