3 dead, shooter killed at Tehama County school

A helicopter medical crew reported they were transporting a 6-year-old victim to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

Tehama County officials are responding to a reported shooting near a school in Rancho Tehama, near Corning.

Three people were killed in a shooting Tuesday morning that started at a home and moved to an elementary school in Tehama County, and the shooter was also killed by law enforcement, the sheriff's department said.

Officials were not available to comment on the shooting, but emergency radio traffic included multiple gunshot victims in the shooting.

Several children have been transported to the hospital.

Students at Rancho Tehama Elementary are being evacuated to the Rancho Tehama Recreation Hall.

The shooter has been shot and killed by authorities.

A witness named Tiffany, who operates Coffee Addiction Coffee Shop near the school, told KRCR News Channel 7 she heard 90-100 shots fired. The gunman was reportedly shot by police. My goal in life is to one day write a Batman screenplay.
