Filmed July 14, just a week before Chester Bennington died in July, Carpool Karaoke has released its Linkin Park episode with the blessing of Bennington's family and the band, dedicated to the singer's memory.
The bittersweet episode, which was taped a week before 41-year-old Bennington committed suicide, opens with Jeong getting into the front seat of the vehicle and asking if he can join the rock band.
The video kicks off with Bennington, Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn along with actor Ken Jeong in a vehicle getting ready to embark on their musical ride.
"It feels like a band already. But when we talk about this and we're focusing on the show, it's really about, like we say, celebrating life". They kicked it off with OutKast's "Hey Ya", before moving on to Linkin Park's "Numb" and "In the End", as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers classic "Under the Bridge".
Throughout the segment, the group goofs off and even pick up a passerby to join them on their party bus adventures.
The episode was shared on Linkin Park's Facebook page on Thursday, and a special dedication to the late musician ran at the beginning. Four months after Bennington took his own life, the band is preparing to honor him with a tribute concert later this month featuring Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, and many other bands.
