Jovovich has been the lead of the Resident Evil franchise for years, but that recently came to a close with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Milla Jovovich is in final talks to join the Marshall-directed reboot of Hellboy, sources said. At this point it’s just being called Hellboy, and it’s not clear if it will receive a new subtitle. The film has Stranger Things standout David Harbour playing the titular comics character, recently we learned that Ian McShane will be playing Professor Broom, and now the movie is zeroing in on its villain. At least that’s what I’ve been told, Sherman in the Guillermo del Toro films was the love interest. His usual methods of solving supernatural mysteries involve punching monsters in the face a whole bunch until they don’t stand up. What of this so-called Blood Queen? I will have more details about the film this week so stay tuned for that.
If you’re looking for a formidable foil for Hellboy, Milla Jovovich is a pretty damn good choice. She played a significant role in Hellboy comic stories “The Wild Hunt” and ‘The Storm and The Fury’.
The Hellboy reboot doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s set to begin filming this year. Based on the raw visual sensibilities he has shown in the films The Descent, Centurion and Dog Soldiers as well as several memorable Game of Thrones episodes, Marshall has the chops for this R-rated film.
