While it’s been more than a decade since we said goodbye to “Friends“, Matt LeBlanc still can’t escape the barrage of fan questions about the beloved sitcom.
Joey Tribbiani really shouldn’t do his own stunts. “I have spoken to everyone involved in the decision to come back and do Friends and I have heard all the rumours myself that you have all heard”, he explains.
“I don’t think that will happen”, Matt tells TV WEEK.
Joey and Chandler are feuding in the episode.
The 50-year-old actor now appears as a fictional version of himself in Episodes, and as a host on BBC motoring show Top Gear.
LeBlanc seemed to enjoy the clip, especially comedian Lil Rey Howery’s take on “big Joey in the pool”, before reminiscing about shooting the opening sequence for “Friends“. “It was hours [to shoot]”. The actor added that his dance moves in the famed opening were all his without the help of a choreographer.
The two men were discussing Jay-Z’s recent remake of the show with an all-black cast, and LeBlanc revealed that the episode they chose was one with a wild memory.
In the scene, Chandler and Joey see an empty chair and immediately both start racing to it. “My arm is sticking out of my ass basically”. Now, Matt LeBlanc who played Joey for 10 seasons, has let everyone in on the true story behind the broken arm – which, as it turns out, wasn’t at all part of the plan for the series.
While everyone in the audience assumed it was part the show, it definitely wasn’t and despite looking fine to the audience members, LeBlanc recalled that he went off into Monica’s room (which wasn’t an actual room!) and tried to deal with the pain. “And I’m like, ‘wow did I hit my head too, because I know you’re not a real doctor, get out of here!'”
