ABC Wins Monday With THE BACHELORETTE Finale Spiking 40% to Season High

NBC (28.760 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 8.6, #1) continued its win streak on Monday with its primetime coverage of the “Olympic Games Rio 2016” (28.760 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 8.6, #1).

The year-ago “Bachelorette” finale averaged a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.572 million total viewers, running from 8 p.m.to 10:01 p.m.

In the end Rachel Lindsay picked a true love on the Season 13 finale of The Bachelorette (2.1/8) last night but things sure got messy too. That is a season high for the series, though the finale was down from Season 12 (2.3, 8.1 million).

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: “Late Night with Seth Meyers”, 1.0/4 in metered-market households; CBS’s “Late Late Show”, 1.0/3.

But first, here’s a rarity worth pointing out: CBS settled for sixth place in the main demo, airing a bunch of sitcom reruns and another weak “On Assignment” original.

ABC’sThe Bachelorette” (7.5 million and 2.1/8 from 8:00-11:00 p.m.) outdelivered the No. 2 TV program on the night by season-best margins, topping NBC’sAmerican Ninja Warrior” (6.2 million and 1.5/6 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.) by 19% in Total Viewers and 40% in Adults 18-49. At 10, “Midnight, Texas” had a 0.8/3 and 3.1 million viewers.

The CW offered another Hooten & the Lady to the tune of a 0.2 rating with adults 18-49. Fox came in third in the demo with a 0.7, but fourth in total viewers with 2.7 million. The CW averaged a 0.2 and 1.2 million viewers.
