Sebastian’s customization options in The Evil Within 2 will be structured in five different categories, including health, combat, stealth, recovery, and athleticism, allowing fans to alter their play styles in whichever way they choose. These powerful active upgrades will cost a great deal of Green Gel, however, so you must choose wisely when weighing them up against your passive upgrades.
When it comes to weaponry, you’ll be able to increase firepower, reload time, capacity and fire rate. Upgrades will increase the crossbow’s range, decrease the time for aiming, and change the parameters for specific types of bolts.
Lastly, the publisher discussed how the crafting system would have fewer restrictions than the first game. “You don’t have to rely exclusively on what you can scrounge up in the world”. And while The Evil Within 2 will keep with its survival-horror ethos and stop players from becoming all-powerful murder machines, the sequel will free up some limitations, allowing players to have more freedom with how they customize Sebastian in the second outing. You’ll have to take it back to a workbench and craft there, or use significantly more resources to craft on the spot.
On top of all that customization, you will be able to craft the items you need the most.
The Evil Within 2 was revealed at E3, and will once again focus on original protagonist Sebastian, however this time he’ll be searching for his daughter in its house of horrors.
