“It was a odd, unusual feeling”, he revealed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Thorne, who wrote “Wonder“, has been asked to work on the next “Star Wars” installment, which is set to be directed by Colin Trevorrow.

Thorne has received quite a reputation and following through his previous creations such as “The Fades” and “National Treasure”. The studio’s President Kathleen Kennedy recently revealed that Leia will not feature in The Last Jedi’s follow-up film, however it’s also been reported that they are still keeping their options open, but will not take the CGI route.

Since the sad passing of Carrie Fisher, the question of what Star Wars would be doing with General Organa and how they’d tie up her story has been a particularly pressing issue. It was a unusual, odd feeling. “[Rian] had a chance to really go insane, and I’m a big Star Wars buff so certain things I saw I was just like ‘Well, that’s a first.’ And that, for me, is really cool to experience”.

That certainly seems that the character won’t be killed off, despite the initial plan to have her role expanded in Episode IX, and it is hugely intriguing to consider how LucasFilm will now retire her, particularly with The Last Jedi already filmed when she died.

“This movie, it sends her off in a very wonderful, incredible way”.

The plot of Star Wars IX will evidently be kept under wraps until it hits the big screen in May 2019, and there’s no word yet on which actors are on the cast.
