Seven Killed in Boko Haram Attack on Village in Adamawa

Reports just reaching us have it that the deadly Boko Haram sect has attacked Adamawa State killing seven people.

“As at the last count, seven people were slaughtered while about over 10 others were injured and were rushed to a health facility in Gulak”, the source added.

The incident, which was confirmed by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ahmed Sajoh, and the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Abubakar Othman, also left the village in shambles as many houses and shops were burnt down by the terrorists.

Residents of the area who were able to escape the onslaught said the dreaded group stormed the village around midnight Yesterday, 1st August 2017, and opened fire on people of the community who were mostly asleep.

The terrorists accessed the town through the neighbouring village of Chakawa, captured seven men, and beheaded them.

The US Department of State’s Bureau for Counter-terrorism and Countering Violent Extremism had said in the report that the inability of security agencies in Nigeria to share intelligence report because of animosity was affecting the success in the fight against Boko Haram.

The attack comes days after the insurgents ambushed some Nigerian oil explorers in the Lake Chad region.

The injured victims are presently receiving treatment in various hospitals according to reports.
