President Donald Trump has selected John Kelly as his new White House chief of staff, replacing Reince Priebus.
But Congressman Peter King, who accompanied Trump aboard the Air Force One to NY and back, told reporters that he saw no indication of Priebus’ exit during the flight. With a retired general in charge, he hopes to bring in discipline and end the chaos inside the White House.
After wrongly asserting that someone “leaked” information about his finances, newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci is talking tough about cracking down on Trump administration leaks and threatening to get federal investigators involved.
Trump also promoted his Deputy Sarah sanders as the new White House Press Secretary.

But Priebus allies felt he was an important link to establishment Republicans in Washington as the capital attempted to adjust to the anti-establishment style of the president.
“He’s a guy who wants to do the job as best he can, and the last thing he wants to have to deal with is the political sniping that I’m sure is going on”, Panetta said in an interview.
Priebus’ ally from the RNC, Press Secretary Sean Spicer, resigned after Scaramucci was hired.
But Priebus had also been a steady hand inside a West Wing that often found itself off-balance.
An ongoing public fighting between Scaramucci and Priebus had dominated the headlines in recent days.
That status, as part of what the military calls a Gold Star family, puts him in the administration of a presidential candidate who verbally attacked a Gold Star family: the Khans, Muslim-American immigrants who lost a son in Iraq and had criticized Trump at the Democratic National Convention.
In a third tweet, President Trump praised the outgoing chief of staff, who had previously worked as the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
The SUV then left the Trump motorcade, “which proceeded along to the White House without him”, the Post reports. “We accomplished a lot together and I am proud of him!”
Both Scaramucci and Priebus traveled to New York’s Long Island with Trump on Friday for an event where the president highlighted efforts to crack down on the gang MS-13.
People who know Kelly told The Associated Press that he was not aware of the details of those initial orders until around the time that Trump signed them.
Trump has ruffled feathers with off-message tweets, his handling of the Russian Federation investigation, the firing James Comey as FBI director (arguably his most high-profile political miscue) and his public shaming of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, which has turned many congressional Republicans on the president. “Secretary Kelly is one of the strongest and most natural leaders I’ve ever known”.
Since the position was first created in 1946, the average tenure of the 29 chiefs of staff stretches almost two and a half years, according to a CNN analysis of data from a Discovery Channel project called The Presidents’ Gatekeepers.
