Wonder Woman says “They said age of heroes would never come again”, as Batman tells her, “it has to”.
Warner Bros. and DC officially announced the project during San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, revealing Gal Gadot would reprise her role as Diana, princess of the Amazons, according to Entertainment Weekly.
There has been a lot of speculation about when the Wonder Woman sequel will take place and if acclaimed director Patty Jenkins will also helm the next movie.
Jenkins has already been teasing her ideas for the sequel.
“I’m working right now on the Wonder Woman 2 script”.
More Wonder Woman is officially on the way.
The movie broke multiple records (seriously, just, like, so many records), to be the highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman, the highest-grossing woman-led superhero film, and the highest domestic-earner for the entire DCEU (beating out Batman and Superman to boot).
Wonder Woman has to wait 76 years to get her first solo film, but the wait for her next solo film, thankfully, will be much, much shorter.

Today, Wonder Woman will become the highest grossing film of the summer (domestically), zooming past Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (which still has a larger worldwide total).
Justice League will be released on November 17. If you really can’t hold out, Warner Bros. has an extra treat for you: the Justice League teaser trailer was released the same day that they announced the sequel.
