But today, 10 years to the day after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in Rowling’s seven-volume saga, was published, it seems those pages once again deserve some celebrating.
As we celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter being in our lives, and with his upcoming birthday at the end of the month, one IL town is celebrating by turning into the magical wizarding world! Many credit J.K. Rowling’s story of a boy who didn’t know he was the most famous wizard in a parallel world with reinvigorating an entire generation of readers.
“There are also some surprising nods to the “Harry Potter” stories that will delight fans of the books and film series”. But the excitement and the craze for the film and the book was not down between the peoples. The second book, ‘Harry Potter – A Journey Through A History of Magic’ will deal with mystical subjects including alchemy, unicorns, and ancient witchcraft.
British publishing house Bloomsbury revealed that two new Potter books will be released in conjunction with the anniversary. Similar to the first two editions, the third book will also be illustrated by Jim Kay.
Both Harry Potter and Game of Thrones are known for having ridiculously expansive casts, and utilising a number of recognisable names and faces, from the ‘oh it’s X!’ to the ‘what have I seen them in before?!’. Past year saw the release of the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them – where Eddie Redmayne chased magical beasts, who were a threat to the wizardry world, around NY.
“Harry Potter – A Journey Through the History of Magic” and “Harry Potter – A History of Magic” promise a “fascinating exploration of magical history” as written by the British Library’s “curatorial team”, according to the library shop’s website.
Both books are available for pre-order.
