Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling brings back the entire cast, as you can probably tell from listening in the trailer. “Uh fellas, I don’t think we’re in the ’90s anymore”, Rocko says after peeking through the hedges. The special will be about something entirely different, like how laundry day is a very risky day.
At the very end of the trailer, a rather shaken Rocko turns to the camera and says: ‘The 21st century is a very unsafe century’.
The trailer also features an energy drink called Schlam-o, a food truck that sells pizza tacos, and a comic shop that’s just a 3D printer that makes your issue of choice on demand.
Rocko’s Modern Life creator Joe Murray told Motherboard (via Pedestrian) that the new movie is set in modern day. While the clip mostly shows us Rocko, Heffer, and Filbert, we do get a cameo from Bev Bighead (voiced by Charlie Adler) who still lives next to Rocko. Leave a comment below and let us know!
Cartoon hit and 90s mainstay Rocko’s Modern Life is returning to TV screens to take aim at the social trends of the 21st century.
It’s not enough to report back that Nickelodeon’s Rocko’s Modern Life Comic-Con panel was a hoot, so fresh off the O-Town press, the network has unveiled the first bit of footage from the anticipated revival.
They discussed the show’s past and future, but the highlight was this first look at the movie, where Rocko finds out that the 21st century is a little too fast paced for his liking.
