The deal could be for five years and $148 million.
Wiggins and the Timberwolves are engaged in contract negotiations on a five-year extension that would be worth almost $148 million, according to Timberwolves coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau will hopefully be one of the cornerstone players of the team, ESPN reported.
The extension would start in the 2018-2019 season, meaning Wiggins would be under contract for the next six seasons, and would be worth nearly $148 million. The sides could agree to terms where, if Wiggins made an all-NBA team or was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2017-18, that figure would jump to $30.6 million. He has started all but one game in his three-year career.
It is also worth noting that as it stands today, Wiggins is slated to earn $7.6 million next season.

Report: Wiggins, T-Wolves negotiating extension
The Globe and Mail referred to Wiggins as the “Prodigal Son” and he is always a hot ticket at the ACC whenever he is in town to play against the Raptors. Aside from Butler, they acquired Jamal Crawford, Jeff Teague, and Taj Gibson in free agency.
The 22-year-old Wiggins averaged a career-best 23.6 points per game last season. Teague, on the other hand, averaged 15.3 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in the 2016-2017 National Basketball Association season.
The Boston Celtics announced the signing of three players who played overseas this past season.
