Corsair Launches New 32GB Modules of High-Performance VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 Memory - 07/18/2019 03:03 PMCorsair today announced the addition of 32GB modules to its range of VENGEANCE LPX high-performance DDR4 memory, allowing PC builders to equip their systems with more DDR4 memory than ever before. We'll also probably see Corsair offer its accessories - keyboard, mice, headsets, etc. - alongside Origin purchases, and Corsair confirmed that its upcoming Hydro X custom cooling system will feature in Origin-built PCs as well. Its products are marketed towards users of computer-aided design applications, virtual reality development and any other graphics card-based computing.
Origin PC isn't being swallowed whole by Corsair - which already makes its own PCs, and a raft of components and gaming accessories - but rather will remain as a standalone brand within the organization. It says that further integration of Corsair technologies into Origin PC builds will come in the near future. All existing Origin PC warranties, purchases and support are unaffected.
Origin PC was founded in 2009 by former employees of Alienware after the latter was acquired by Dell. There are many PC gamers who don't want to bother with the know-how and the risks of building their own rigs, which is obviously fine.
There are no plans as but for Origin to begin selling PCs exterior of the USA and Canada. The acquisition of Origin PC will also likely play an essential role in expanding Corsair's dominance in PC gaming. The overall PC market has been shrinking since 2011, but the gaming-PC business has been growing during the same time period - not enough to offset the entire market decline, but enough to emerge as a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy space.
"With Origin PC's expertise in personalized custom gaming systems and Corsair's strength in performance PC hardware and the iCUE software ecosystem, we're excited to combine our efforts to create new world-class gaming experiences for PC gamers", Paul said in the release.
