The headsets already look a lot like Sam Fisher's ever present night vision goggles, so why not? While we've a fair amount of stealth games since then, but none that quite delivered an experience that goes with the name Splinter Cell.

The push into more well-known titles on the Oculus VR also shows Facebook truly appears to be dedicated to making the platform a titan of the industry.

After the hype following the wildly successful Oculus Rift Kickstarter in 2012 - which came before Facebook acquired the VR company for USD$2bn (£1.59bn) in 2014 - the VR market has settled to slow growth. Oculus recently released the Oculus Quest, a more streamlined version of their VR headset, that has reportedly sold better than the company expected, with sales up by 54.1% from past year according to IGN. While Facebook is yet to detail Quest sales numbers, source told The Information that sales of the Oculus Quest units have gone far beyond the social networking giant's internal sales projections for the hardware.
