But while fans will have to wait to see what the full suite of multiplayer options, Activision gave a sneak peek at one of the new modes, Gunfight, today. These loadouts change every two rounds, and the first team to six rounds wins. The upcoming Modern Warfare Gunfight mode may sound like another Call of Duty gamemode called Gun Game, but it is quite a bit different. Unlike other Call of Duty multiplayer modes, Gunfight does not allow players to regain health over time. However, various youtubers that had played the game back in May came out to clarify that they had the option to turn it off when they got their chance to play. Speed is the key to Gunfight: Matches run on a 40-second timer, and if you haven't wiped out the opposing duo by then, a flag appears in the center of the map. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is published by Activision, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard with development led by award-winning developer, Infinity Ward.
You can also earn a point by killing both enemy players. Due to the small size of Gunfight, it's possible that, like Close-Quarters, it will feature unique maps rather than using those available in other modes. As much as I want to make fun of this mode's name, the gameplay actually sounds pretty solid. There's some further information on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare website.
The Call of Duty multiplayer gameplay Gunfight reveal takes place at 10:00 PDT / 13:00 EDT / 18:00 BST today, and can be watch live online on Call of Duty Twitch channel right here. As for the story itself, it'll be completely new, rather than a rehash of the 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare narrative, dealing with some hard-hitting subject matter.
