England must block out 'noise' ahead of World Cup final, says Bayliss

England's progress to the final has not been straightforward.

England last made a Cricket World Cup final in 1992, doing so in the kit that their 2019 World Cup uniforms were inspired by. "It'll be a hell of a game between two teams that love to fight and scrap".

England batsman Jason Roy could face disciplinary action after his blistering innings in Thursday's World Cup semi-final against Australia came to a controversial end at Edgbaston.

"It's just another game of cricket with a bat and ball".

The problem for Roy was that England had already squandered their lone review of the innings with an unsuccessful attempt to overturn fellow opener Jonny Bairstow's lbw dismissal for 34.

But Finch, who was out for a duck, conceded England had been far superior. We know how dominant they are when they get on top.

England were dumped out of the last World Cup in the first-round group stage, a dismal exit that prompted a fresh approach to one-day cricket. We had to take our chances and bowl them out. England's pace trio of Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have shared the same number of wickets between them. "After you finish a World Cup you've always got one eye on the next one". In three of the four matches, the side batting second has been bowled out.

Finch won the toss and made a decision to bat first, but Australia were soon reduced to 14 for three.

New Zealand have been reluctant to deploy their leg-spinner, Ish Sodhi, preferring the all-round ability of left-arm tweaker Mitchell Santner.

Seeing England's dominance over the Aussies in Birmingham, former English captain, Michael Vaughan couldn't hold himself as he took to Twitter to express his happiness as the hosts intimidated Australia through-out the knockout game.

England have lost all three of their previous finals, while New Zealand were beaten in their first final four years ago. Much like Buttler Stokes offers another good value long shot. While Australia was bowling, the bowlers failed to pick up early wickets.
