The cake had "marijuana" written on it with green coloured icing.
Kensli Davis, 25, laughed it off on Facebook in a post on July 2, sharing a picture of the cake and an account of the mix-up.
Kensli wanted to celebrate her 25th birthday with Moana, not marijuana.
The birthday celebration brought a big surprise when the cake turned out to feature a marijuana leaf and a My Little Pony-style illustration of an equine smoking a joint.
A mother ordered a Disney-themed cake for her daughter's birthday - but it didn't come back decorated the way they intended after a hilarious mix-up.
The animated blockbuster is the story of a young Hawaiian girl who goes on a perilous mission to save her people, meeting the demigod Maui along the way - but most importantly discovering her own identity.
"I think they thought that she said "marijuana" because we are from south Georgia and kind of have an accent".
"That ice cream cake was still good though!" Tammy Davis had asked the bakery for a cake with "Moana" written on the top as it is her daughter's favourite character for her 25th birthday party. "(Because really I do)", Davis said on Facebook.
Her post has since been shared 11,000 times with people in hysterics. She jokingly said that she is not planning to publicly shame anyone by taking names.
