The US National Hurricane Center said in an update on Monday evening that the sub-tropical storm now poses no threat to land.
Even if the storm does develop, however, it is expected to move away from the U.S. East Coast and start weakening by Wednesday as "conditions are forecast to become unfavorable for further development".
"An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is now en route to investigate the disturbance", the NHC says.
The first storm for the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season, Andrea, has formed north of the Caribbean.
The system is predicted to deliver wet weather and thunderstorms later this week.
Six tropical storms and one hurricane have formed outside of season since 2012.
The NHC said that people in Bermuda should monitor the system.
Past year we had subtropical storm Alberto develop on May 25th and track north through the Gulf of Mexico before impacting the Florida Panhandle.
This satellite image provided by NOAA shows Hurricane Michael (C), in the Gulf of Mexico on October 9, 2018. Weather forecasters have posthumously upgraded last fall's Hurricane Michael from a Category 4 storm to a Category 5. A hurricane watch is issued 48 hours in advance of the anticipated onset of tropical-storm-force winds. The official start of hurricane season is marked by the horizontal green line, and the median date of first formation is marked by the horizontal dashed black line.
