Today, many fans tuned in to the latest Nintendo Direct to get new details on the forthcoming Super Mario Maker 2. Characters will be found in the world who award coins and give missions back at the castle. A new Moon course part can be used to unlock night versions of these themes. This is where players can upload or download levels and leave comments for others. Once a course is downloaded it can be played at anytime, Nintendo said, even offline. Nintendo is going to host a Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational on June 8th, 2019. The updated title brings four-player multiplayer, the ability to create maps with friends on a single screen, and more robust overall level creation.
Nintendo is offering a special limited-time deal for Switch Online members. Although, it wasn't clear if only that person needed a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Vertical sub-areas are also new to Super Mario Maker 2, as is the new scroll stop feature.
As such, players that are interested in two Switch games that cost $59.99 can save almost $20 by purchasing the titles with Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers. However, this was not all that was covered during the Direct, as Nintendo revealed a new promotion that some Switch owners are certain to be excited about. Be sure you actually use them, though - each voucher is only valid for a year after the purchase date.
The invitation will open up the festivities at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on that day, starting at 11am PT, and will be followed by the Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019 and the Super Smash Bros.
