PC players have been able to play Dauntless for a while now, with the game entering an open beta phase around this time a year ago, but next week will be the first time that Dauntless is available on consoles.
Among these additions and enhancements will be a Mastery system that enables Slayers to earn experience, hone their monster-hunting skills, and acquire an array of new rewards.
Dauntless is free to play, and will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via the Epic Games Store. The Fortnite-esque Battle Pass system known as the Hunt Pass will make sure that there is always something to do in the game too. As Slayer, it's up to you to hunt the monstrous Behemoths who are devouring the world. According to the developer, the hunt pass "transforms the world of Dauntless into a Moon Blossom Festival and offers Slayers a huge variety of thematic gear to flaunt their inner ninja". "As with previous Hunt Pass seasons [from the beta], Slayers can work through 50 levels of content across both the basic and Elite tracks, earning cosmetic rewards as well as premium currency along the way". Everything from questing and crafting to meeting other Slayers and pursuing Behemoths has received massive updates.
Phoenix Labs today announced the release date for its flagship game Dauntless.
Alongside the base game, the proper free-to-play release will also include all the updates added during the beta as well as a number of themed and timed events that will kick off in the future. Expect new expansions, adventures, deadly Behemoths and more - all on a regular basis and all free-to-play.
