James Milner targets Champions League final 'redemption'

The Gunners have reached the Europa League finals this season where they will be playing against Chelsea and if Unai Emery's men can manage to win the UEL then they will get direct entry into the Champions League.

"When you consider they haven't signed anyone for 18 months, top four finish again, Champions League final - whatever happens in that Champions League final, it's still been a phenomenal season to get them where they are".

Pochettino has raised fears that he could leave Tottenham after the Champions League final and captain Hugo Lloris has backed the Argentine's warning that he will not start a new chapter at the club without a clear plan. I've been with him for five years, I've seen many things and we've lived through different situations and tried to deal with them.

"When we played in Switzerland against Liverpool with Sevilla [in the 2016 Europa League final], the stadium was full of our supporters and Liverpool supporters and it was awesome but I don't [know] really how they made a decision to play there".

Virgil van Dijk echoed Milner's ambition, saying: "We have to look on the positive side and remember we are still in Madrid".

"It's political issues and I don't know what the solution is".

Earlier this week, Arsenal expressed their concern over the safety of Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of the trip to Baku, in light of political tensions between Azerbaijan and the midfielder's native Armenia.

Estadio Metropolitano will host the showpiece match of Europe's premier club competition on Saturday June 1 - and Milner believes the efforts of both players and supporters throughout the season merit a successful end to the campaign.

"I don't know what the problem is between two countries but we'll do all we can to be with Mkhitaryan there". It's not only a sporting issue.

"I understand what the gaffer means".
