In December, Moulton announced his support for the Green New Deal, a resolution that urges Congress to hand the government a monopoly over the U.S.'s energy industry in order to move the nation entirely away from fossil fuels.
Moulton is now the third MA candidate who has entered the race, along with Democratic Sen. "But we're a country that, at our best, thinks that we might", the three-term congressman said in a video as he launched his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. Beto O'Rourke. Bernie Sanders addresses a rally in North Charleston, S.C., on March 14.

Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist.
Moulton was first elected to Congress in 2014 after mounting a primary challenge against John Tierney, a fellow Democrat who had held his seat for 18 years.
