'The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann' documentary series will be on Netflix tomorrow

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, set to premiere on Friday.

The SVOD is to launch the multi-part series on 15 March.

Promising a deep dive into every piece of evidence and potential theory of what has been called the most famous missing child case in British history, the streaming series reexamines the events of the night of May 3, 2007, when 3-year-old McCann disappeared while on vacation with her family at Praia de Luz resort in Portugal. Their lawyer, Rogério Alves, was interviewed for the series.

It said: "The Disappearance Of Madeleine McCann goes beyond the headlines and takes a unique look at the facts of the case as well as its impact on media standards around the world".

Experts on the show also make some shocking claims, with some saying that Madeleine is still alive.

She had been left with her younger siblings while her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, were out for dinner in a tapas restaurant.

More than 40 people have been interviewed for the documentary including key figures who worked on the investigation.

Private investigator Julian Peribanez, who was hired by parents Kate and Gerry McCann, said traffickers usually tend to go for "lower class" children from poorer countries.

Netflix has been pumping out some pretty good true crime documentaries about real-life abduction and murder cases that still remain a mystery.

The couple have always denied having any involvement in their daughter's disappearance and maintain they will do "whatever it takes, for as long as it takes" to find her.

A spokesman for the McCann family confirmed that "Kate and Gerry and their wider family and friends were approached some months ago to participate in the documentary", but "chose not to engage".

A documentary on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will be aired on Netflix from tomorrow.

The McCanns have slammed the documentary as they believe it will "hinder" the ongoing police investigation.

They've also reportedly urged others to refuse doing interviews with production house Pulse Films, who's making the series.
