On July 3, 2018, a pedestrian pathway of Gokhale Bridge over Andheri railway station in suburban Mumbai had collapsed, killing two and injuring five others.
Ranjana Tambe (40) and Apoorva Prabhu (35) were nurses at GT hospital and had been working since 2005, their colleagues said.
The bridge which connected the area near The Times of India building with the iconic CSMT station was commonly known as "Kasab bridge" as the 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist passed through it during the terror strike. "Senior officers are on spot", Mumbai police had tweeted at 7.46 pm.

The bridge near VT Station, just a stone throw away from Anjuman e Islam Campus, collapsed at the time when a large number of people reach the railway station to catch trains back home after day's work. Authorities asked commuters to use alternate routes.
Since it was peak traffic time, there were several people on the bridge as well as under it.
Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant rushed to the site of accident, and assured an inquiry into the FOB collapse.

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Vinod Tawde said that the bridge wasn't 100 per cent hazardous and the municipal corporation had made some recommendations to fix the bridge.
Police registered cases against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Indian Railway officials charging them with culpable homicide.
The part of the bridge at Cama Hospital end collapsed and at least 34 people were admitted to the hospital after the incident.
"I have ordered a high-level inquiry into this unfortunate incident which puts a question mark over the authenticity of the structural audit of bridges carried out across the city", he added. It is a public FOB, and not a railway FOB. The bridge was constructed in 1984, about 35 years ago. Following the mishap, the civic body chose to undertake a structural audit of all the bridges in the city. Some minor damage was detected which was yet to be repaired, he told reporters.
Out of these, 47 bridges are taken on priority.
