The comedian and Late Late Show host played a prank on the legendary footballer for a stunt on his late night talk show.
We've seen that with Cristiano Ronaldo's mangled bronze head, and thanks to James Corden and a very unwitting David Beckham, we now have this glorious scenario in which a truly bung-headed statue is birthed unto the world purely for the sake of comedy.
Comedian James Corden had made a decision to pull the prank on David Beckham, with the fake statue in his honour - ahead of the real one being displayed at LA Galaxy's stadium.
Up next came a highlight reel of Beckham's biggest soccer feats, which included a few unnecessary "lows", leaving the star shaking his head in disbelief. "Look how long my arms are, I honestly look like Stretch Armstrong!"
The proportions aren't quite right
"It's slightly different than it was when I saw it in Chicago", Beckham said disapprovingly upon seeing the statue, though he tried in vain to remain polite.
The reveal was orchestrated with a bunch of actors, one of which called him "Dave" Beckham repeatedly and reflected on his career at "Man City", which is some real subtle chef kiss gear. It doesn't really look nothing like me. It doesn't look anything like me though, look at my eyes!
In the video below, the prank's process began two months earlier with their props department at CBS. There is no way that can go in front of the stadium. "The only thing that is good is my hair". "My parents and wife are coming over", Beckham said to Jobrani. I really don't see how this can go out.
Just as Beckham appeared ready to walk off in disgust, a forklift driver came on the scene to move the statue, "accidentally" tipping it over and smashing it.
