The legal unit also emphasised the need to appoint an ad hoc Ombudsman to probe the episode in which Pandya and Rahul made a few crass remarks about women in a TV show - Koffee with Karan anchored by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar.
Hardik Pandya is likely to miss out from the team.
Rahul was a little more restrained than Pandya but did talk about getting in trouble with his parents as an 18-year-old for having condoms in his pocket. "We are still waiting for a decision to be made", Kohli said at the press conference ahead of the first ODI against Australia in Sydney on Friday. "That's how we are looking at it, the combinations will have to be looked at when the decision comes out and from there on we'll see what needs to be done about the whole situation", Kohli added. "We are also waiting like everyone else on the verdict".
"Considering that the inquiry process against the concerned players has commenced and is pending, it is open for the COA to suspend the concerned players (along with their privileges and benefits) pending enquiry and proceeding into the charges of misconduct until final adjudication", the legal team said in its email to the CoA, the office bearers and the BCCI's professional management. He said, "We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don't align with those views, those were individual opinions".
After becoming the first Indian captain to guide his team to a Test series win against Australia in Australia, Virat Kohli is on the verge of adding another feather to his illustrious cap. "Definitely it has to hit anyone hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right", he said.
"This changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have been able to create".
"These are purely individual opinions - we definitely, as the Indian cricket team, do not support views like that and that has been communicated".
Pandya has already apologised for his comments, which were widely slammed on social media. He wrote, "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologize to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way".
Pandya said he "got a bit carried away" as he explained his bragging about his prowess with women on the show that aired on Sunday. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments.
