The new graphics card also surpasses the gameplay of another popular Nvidia card, GTX 1070. NVIDIA's GeForce RTX lineup now falls above the $500 United States price range and the GeForce RTX 2060 is expected to be around $349 U.S. while retaining the ray tracing features that the higher end series has to offer. It'll cost $349, which is a little more expensive that xx60 cards are, but not bad considering it'll launch at a lower price than the 1070 when that much-loved card launched. Once it was properly supported in Battlefield V, Nvidia's new technology proved to be most impressive.
The RTX 2060 features 240 tensor cores with 52 teraflops of performance, 6GB of GDDR6 RAM and 5 giga-rays of real-time ray tracing performance. The new models will be available at the end of this month. Previous video cards have difficulty with ray tracing because of how demanding it is, but GeForce RTX cards feature RT Cores that specifically perform ray tracing as to not impact overall framerate. "The long awaited RTX 2060 is here".
Nvidia claims RTX 2060 is 60% faster on current games than the predecessor, GTX 1060. The demos were gorgeous, indeed, brimming with vibrant, lifelike reflections and exquisite details. DLSS is essentially an AI-powered way to improve visuals. But when they added DLSS to the mix, performance bounced back to where it was with ray tracing disabled.
KitGuru Says: We should see RTX 2060 reviews start to pop up soon, so we'll be able to get a better look at exact performance.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 cards will be available next week, on January 15, from a variety of partners.
