Samsung also hasn't revealed pricing or a launch date for the 49-inch CRG9, but we can expect to hear more about it going into next week and CES 2019. There's also support for AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR for reducing screen tearing, stutter, and input latency. The arm allows the user to adjust the monitor as per his/her convenience.
We got a chance to try the new monitor recently, and we were impressed. Does anyone have experience using either ultra-wide or curved displays?
The three new monitors that will be exhibited at the CES 2019 convention next week, are the Samsung Space Monitor, modern and minimalist; the CRG9 designed for a superior gaming experience; and the UR59C, an impressively curved 4K UHD monitor, ideal for content creators. Wall mounting gives you the option to get the monitor off your desk, but the included stand is also created to prioritize desk space while still providing the support a large monitor needs. A built-in picture-by-picture mode lets you use it as a dual-monitor configuration for use with Windows Snap features and fullscreen applications.
The Space Monitor features a unique space-saving design with a minimalist fully-integrated arm stand that can clamp to a user's desk, allowing customers to extend the display or push the screen back and store it flat against the wall. It's meant to improve your workstation or office, according to the company, through things like easy ergonomic adjustment, port access and a "discreet" cable management system. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate with a claimed 4ms response time on a 49-inch display that has been designed for minimizing image lag and motion blur, which is good news for gamers. It can even display two video sources at the same time. It also offers picture-by-picture functionality and a smaller stand size for efficient space usage.
The Space Monitors (SR75) will initially ship in 27- ($400) and 32-inch ($500) versions, which are in preorder now though not expected to ship until March 2019. But the 27-incher has a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, while the 32-inch model has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 2,500:1 contrast ratio. Its 3-sided bezel-less screen is attached to a slender yet sturdy V-slim metal stand with a two-prong base that encases cables and reduces its footprint on your workspace.
The display is available in dark blue-grey, and features a super-slim design, with a depth of only 6.7mm.
